In between gigs, Kj pursued robotics research, receiving her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology, which earned her the nickname “Dr. Diva.” For a long time, she put those degrees to use directing the intelligent robotics efforts at Applied Minds in Glendale, California.
