The Short List

Caltech Bandorama, 2012 – Come Rain or Come Shine

Caltech-Occidental Concert Band Winter Concert, 2011
These are from the Los Angeles preview of our Beijing concert program.
But Not For Me — the wind ensemble puts the “BIG” in big band!
Love is Here to Stay — featuring the inimitable, indomitable, indefatigable Les Deutsch on piano!
Someone to Watch Over Me — again, featuring Les on piano (always a good idea!)

Raymond Scott Tribute Concert, May 2009
Moonlight on the Ganges (I get to moonlight as part of the horn section here; there are no lyrics, just a long “oo” vowel!)

Caltech’s Winter Jazz Concert, January 2009
Christmas Night in Harlem, with the Caltech Thursday Jazz Band (premiere of a new arrangement by Les Deutsch)

Caltech Jazz Festival, April 2008
The Nearness of You, with the Elliot Deutsch Big Band (arranged by Elliot Deutsch)

Caltech Bandorama, 2008
All of Me, with the Caltech Monday Jazz Band
S’Wonderful and Someone to Watch Over Me, with the Caltech-Occidental Concert Band

Caltech Bandorama, 2007
Here’s an old favorite of mine, recorded at the 2007 Bandorama at Caltech in Pasadena:
Please Send Me Someone To Love

Jazz Bakery, 2007
Here are a couple of tunes from our February 2007 performance at the Jazz Bakery:
My Funny Valentine

There’s nothing in the world liking singing with a large wind ensemble. This wall of sound comes to you courtesy of the Caltech-Occidental Concert Band.

This is a recording of the “Grad School Edition” of the Caltech Blues, performed by the Caltech Monday Jazz Band at Caltech’s Bandorama in May, 2006. It was my pleasure to sing this just a few days after finishing my Ph.D.
The Caltech Blues (Grad School Edition)

The Caltech Jazz Bands were in the studio again in 2007; here’s a preview of my tune on their album, “Variety Pack”:
Please Send Me Someone to Love

This studio version of “The Caltech Blues” is the first track from the Caltech Bands CD “Crowd Pleasers,” recorded in 2000.
